We have the famed fussy eater Emperor Tu Due to thank lor the culinary variety of Hue. While the elaborate decoration of imperial cuisine may seem profligate, even a little silly, the degustntion-style banquets can be sublime, well worthy ot a splurge.
A local speciality worth trying is the royal rice cakes, the most common of which is banh khoai. You\\\'ll find these along with other variations (banh ben, banh lac, banh it and banh nam) in street stalls and restaurants at

Vegetarian food has a long tradition in Hue. Stalls in Dong Ba Market serve lots of op tions on the first and 15th days of the lunar month.
