Fields in Xin Man District in the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang are abloom with the Tam Giac Mach flower.
The flower is grown by people in Ha Giang and Cao Bang provinces and many districts throughout northwestern Vietnam.
From the end of autumn when the rice from the terraced fields has been harvested, the flower can be found sweeping across mountainsides in Xin Man District.
The flower has a pinkish triangular shaped petal. Local people often use the powder of fruit of the tree to make cakes or wine, known as Coc Pai Wine.
Ha Giang has become increasingly popular during the Tam Giac Mach blooming season and adds another highlight to Ha Giang Province’s already impressive tourist attractions.
