Size of the monitor to be chosen depends on the space available as well as the purpose for which the computer is to be used. Monitors from 15 inch to 29 inch are generally used by consumers. Sizes above 19 inch are opted for widescreen formats. For basic uses like surfing internet or sending emails consumers can choose branded products which are reliable. Resolution is an important factor. Many types of resolutions are available. For example 1024 x 768, 1280 x 1024, 1600 x 1200 are a few to point out. But LCD monitors have only a single native resolution. It represents the number of horizontal and vertical pixels that constitute the LCD matrix.
